Storytelling/Commemorative
Commemorative Rocking Chair
This project uses mural painting as a storytelling device, translating memory and legacy into a single, symbolic object. The rocking chair functions as both subject and metaphor—representing continuity, care, and generational presence. Through controlled composition and restrained palette, the mural invites quiet reflection, demonstrating how narrative can be conveyed through suggestion rather than overt illustration.

Cultural Expression
St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church Mural
Created in collaboration with the St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Church community, this mural interprets cultural and spiritual identity through visual form. Drawing from religious symbolism, traditional motifs, and architectural context, the design integrates cultural expression into the built environment with respect and clarity. The mural serves as both a visual anchor and a communal statement—honoring heritage while reinforcing a shared sense of place.
Saint Gregorios
The first Indian saint, a spiritual patron and symbol of righteousness.
St. Gregorios of Parumala, the first canonized saint of the Indian Orthodox Church, is revered as a spiritual patron and a symbol of righteousness, humility, and service. I am deeply grateful for opportunities to learn about cultures beyond my own and the spiritual figures through whom communities express their values and faith.
This portrait of St. Gregorios was painted on a separate canvas as a precursor to the larger mural commission. The process allowed me to engage more intimately with his story and significance, serving as both a gesture of respect and an entry point into the visual language of the space.

Working within a sacred tradition outside my own was both humbling and instructive. During the reference phase, I was introduced to iconography that differed from my cultural expectations—including depictions of Christ as a toddler in a pink onesie, and adult representations of Jesus that embraced a double chin with a distinct midline cleft.
While these images initially challenged my visual assumptions, they ultimately expanded my understanding of how theology, culture, and embodiment intersect in sacred art. The experience became an important reminder that spiritual imagery is shaped not by universality alone, but by lived tradition, history, and community interpretation.
It is an to have contributed to something so sacred. Below are images of communal worship within this consecrated space.

Emotional Abstract
Color Splash with Gold Leaf Accents
This abstract mural explores emotion through color, movement, and material contrast. Layered hues and gestural forms create visual energy, while gold leaf accents introduce moments of reflection and light. Rather than representing a specific narrative, the work is designed to evoke mood and sensation—demonstrating how abstraction and material choice can shape emotional experience within a space. The client named this piece "LELE I KE KALA", which means"jump into color" in Hawaiian.

Atmosphere
Union Mill Pediatrics Beach and Ocean Mural
The beach and underwater murals were designed as a continuous environmental experience, using expansive coastal and marine imagery to establish a calming, restorative atmosphere within a healthcare setting. Moving from shoreline to ocean depth, the imagery emphasizes gentle motion, layered color, and visual rhythm to soften the surrounding architecture and reduce sensory tension. Rather than functioning as isolated scenes, the murals unfold across the space, encouraging quiet observation, curiosity, and imaginative escape—supporting comfort and emotional ease for patients, families, and staff through immersive, non-intrusive visual storytelling.
